Erasmus+ Traineeship and Studies
The Erasmus+ Programme enables mobility for traineeship or studies to one of the countries that participate in the Programme.
Traineeship must ensure the possibility to acquire competences relevant for one’s academic major and may be held in foreign companies, research facilities, and non-profit organizations, etc.
Traineeship may not be held in:
- institutions of the European Union;
- Institutions managing European Union programmes;
- Polish diplomatic offices (unless the working language ensures international character of the traineeship).
Traineeship lasts between 60 and 90 days in accordance with Beneficiary Module. Traineeship may not affect completion of the student’s academic courses or cause extension of the period of study and hence should take place during summer holidays; the student may not be on a Dean’s leave during traineeship.
If a student completes the Erasmus+ traineeship with a positive result, the period of traineeship will be recognised and credited towards mandatory student traineeship, if provided for in the study programme. If the study programme provides for no mandatory traineeship or the student has already undergone such traineeship, information about Erasmus+ traineeship will be noted in the Diploma Supplement.
Each Erasmus+ scholar is obliged to buy accident insurance and obtain appropriate health insurance (covering medical expenses) before mobility. Basic health insurance is guaranteed by the European Health Insurance Card issued by the National Health Fund (NFZ). Detailed information is available on NFZ websites. The student should also obtain information from the receiving institution about requirements on civil liability insurance and purchase appropriate insurance, if necessary.
Erasmus+ studies are held at partner universities of the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw in countries participating in the programme.
The period of study abroad lasts a semester or a trimester in the academic year. Participants who signed an agreement concerning studies at a foreign university for a period of a trimester may apply for an extension of the period of mobility for studies for a maximum of a single semester. The participant acknowledges that consent to an extension of mobility at a foreign university does not entail being granted funding for the extended period. Should the Erasmus+ funds run short in a given academic year, the period of studies which is not subject to co-financing is treated as a period with “zero scholarship”. In order to extend the stay, the following documents must be provided:
Certificate from the partner university permitting the extension of mobility and containing confirmation of class attendance in accordance with the signed learning programme or, if possible, a Transcript of Records.
- The certificate should specify the date of termination of the mobility.
- Student’s application for the extension of mobility approved by the Dean;
- “Learning Agreement for Studies” for the extended semester, approved by the agreement Coordinator/Major Attendant and the Dean.
The documents must be submitted to the International Cooperation Office at least 3 weeks before the date of termination of the Student’s mobility at a partner university, set prior to the commencement of mobility. Approving decision on the extension of mobility and possible funding of the extended period of the Student’s mobility should be made within 14 days following submission of the complete set of documents.
